but that doesn’t mean good things aren’t happening.
i did go to see the marathon. i did go to costa rica. i have continued to watch lots of football. i am looking for an air conditioner before it gets brutally hot and have learned that samsung or haier or someone makes one for my tiny 19-inch wide window. and i was in next act, at least in the back. i picked up my violin again as a result, which is nice. i have done laundry twice since the last positive posting. i am considering going to highbury in london on a whim on a weekend, but i have to find a weekend where arsenal is not at home, also vacation time. i got my tax refund. i am truly going to train for the marathon (next year of course), i am running 3.5 times per week, which is basically every other day for those of us who can’t do math. i ate takeaway seven or eight days in a row followed by no takeaway for the last four days.
i’m a little bored at work but it means i have time to learn other things, and clean the lab up. (and boy does it need cleaning. still. boxes and boxes of random old stuff everywhere. including blank checks and credit card numbers. we could have assumed the identity of one of the old fellows.) i redesigned the lab website. it is not ugly. it is functional. now i have to make it look pretty.
i do need to make the medical school application process move forward, however. it probably doesn’t help that i haven’t talked to my advisor in six months. i probably need to just go on without him unless he contacts me. sometimes i have trouble working outside of the little sandbox.
it would also probably help if i started attending my organic chemistry class again but i am just pooped. i also have not recovered from being laid-back yet. and did you know i have been in this blogging business for nearly five years now? my time on flickerfade has gone for three years now. and each year i manage to write at least one thing that pisses someone i know off. i think this may actually be the first year i failed to do so. it may be down to my reduced posting frequency. i’ll try harder next year.
you fucking jackass.
did that work?
