in the past few weeks i have noticed that once people get used to having nice stuff it’s really hard to go back. the status quo is so important.
i have also noticed these are the people who don’t really understand poverty. it’s another one of those “problems of abundance,” that is, a problem you don’t have until you’re not poor. these tend to be meaningless problems, like deciding which pair of shoes to wear in the morning.
i should go understand poverty more.
