people are playing animal crossing?
toucans are slapping their beaks together trying to make out?
jaguars are eating jungle boars?
waves are crashing into shores?
species are going extinct?
people are drunk?
people have no bed?
people are looking at old pictures?
televisions are blaring reruns of elimidate?
bacterial plates are growing unattended in labs?
pointless questions can i ask?
i think i carry needless world-weight.
(but you may be surprised to hear that i am an optimist. there is trouble but we all get through, just never in the way we expect. hope for the best but be prepared for the worst.)
and it’s nice to see new things take their places.
still, once in a while, don’t you want to go back? or just a little bit of stability? i know i do. but it’s a lot to ask. the saddest moment in any situation is the one where you realize that.
i used to look back too much. then i looked forward too much. i’m just going to stop looking now.
