it was wonderful. three counterattacks by middlesborough, awful defending from ricardo carvalho, three sucker punches to a sleepy chelsea side, and it ends 3-0. the bookies had boro at 7-1 odds to win. and then boro was like, fuck you, stupid bookies.
west bromwich albion also took a beating at my favorite london club just down the road from chelsea’s ground, fulham. it’s a beautiful, tiny ground, craven cottage. the ground has a nice view of the thames. the stadium is tucked away in a quiet residential neighborhood, near bishop’s park. (or in it? i am unclear on this.) and i wish i was at that match–it ended 6-1, with a hat trick from heidar helguson, two from collins john, and another from radzinski, to chants of “easy, easy, easy,” and “we want six.”
