we haven’t done anything outside of the house quite yet. i went running with my cousin, and i did manage to book a hotel for ten pounds, though.

on the red-eye coming here there was a single mother behind me who, along with having her arm nearly broken repeatedly by her blazingly redheaded five-year old daughter, was spelling words for her as well. normally i would have been angry, but in this case, it’s obnoxiously cute.

child: mummy, could you spell word for me?
mummy: if i do, will you go to sleep?
child: no.

obnoxiously cute and obnoxious. such a fine line. i think of a certain conversation i had with annie and ryan at taiwan cafe before i left when i think of this line now.

tomorrow’s boxing day. you can find out more about boxing day here. every time i think of boxing day i forget why it came about. and then, i look it up and realise all over again that it may be because nobody really knows why it came about. the only thing i know, is, just like in the united states, there are big sales. unlike the united states, there are also more opportunities to watch football at pubs; that’s what i’m really looking forward to.

off we go

on the t today i saw a line of three women who had markedly different expressions. it was strange, yet normal.

so yeah i’m leaving now. stay safe.
