umpiring

Tuesday, October 25th, 2005

i feel like i have to comment on something regarding the bad calls in the baseball playoffs this year. and surprisingly, it is not about the umpires, or the arguments for video evidence.

what bothers me is that jermaine dye knew the ball hit his bat on that disputed hit-by-pitch call that led to the grand slam on the next at-bat, and did not try to correct the umpire.

you may be a baseball player, but you are not a sportsman. or you’re just dumb, you should keep your mouth shut and say you didn’t know. or maybe both.

we live in the wrong age. or maybe it has always been like this.

i did not know the cambridgeport saloon and plough and stars are now closed. and a lot of these bars get replaced by these weird high-rolling club-bars.

shit. neighborhoods down the drain, another win for yuppification and gentrification. that’s why i don’t like redline and all those other upscale bars. we have enough of them already.
