there are rodents running around the flat

they’re pets. hong kong isn’t that gross. i’ve only seen people urinate in public in the united states, probably because you can’t really get any privacy in a public place here (somewhat contradictory). then again, sometimes it is. parts of mong kok (shanghai street) always smell like sewer gas. the restrooms have improved, though. actually a lot has improved after sars.

nothing like the mainland, in any case. that’s just wrong. i don’t think we’ll be heading there this year, it was pretty unclean last time and now there are food scares because people don’t know how to process food.

i can finally sleep tonight, because there are no euro matches until later this week. except, more family is arriving tonight so maybe not.

never bet on england

or the red sox, they will break your heart (and your wallet). they always look like winning too.

i never have time to check my e-mail. so when i finally do find the time i have to filter through a load of spam whee.

everything is so mundane here in the flat, it makes me lose my sense of time and space. every time i wake up i don’t know what part of the globe i’m in. family is so quirky, it’s frustrating at times, and when you don’t spend time with them too often it’s hard to know what to say.

there is a nice place to draw hong kong in the museum of art. reminds me of mfa’s school week when they had asian art activities for the kids (all of which i particpated in, YEAH).

yay i am finally doing something more interesting

i am at the hong kong museum of art, hot damn.

although i would like to avoid my family at times, it is easy to forget that the culture here is very family oriented and i’m not used to it.

i had horrible luck with mahjong last night whilst my father had wonderful luck.
