i bought the cutest little tripod today at micro center. it was three dollars. good for setting up the digital cam on my desk and taking useless pictures of myself. it works with the slr, kind of. but the minolta is a little too heavy, and breaks the locking mechanism of the tripod from time to time. well, that’s three dollars for you.

i also bought some nimh batteries for the slr’s flash. now i won’t feel bad about wasting batteries.

time is always getting away from me. and why am i always hungry? answer: so i can clean my room.

three big european/uefa cup results. chelsea 1-1 arsenal (dirty away goals), barcelona 0-0 celtic (0-1 aggregate), as roma 2-1 villareal (2-3 aggregate).

chelsea 1-1 arsenal. i hope arsenal eats it in the next fortnight. but honestly, arsenal would have won had jens lehmann not made a horrid error in clearing to gift eidur gudjohnsen the ball. gudjohnsen kept his composure to slot the ball into the empty net. poor marking led to the equaliser from a robert pires header–but chelsea more than held their own, and finally did not taste defeat against arsenal this season.

barcelona 0-0 celtic. celtic was pinned back by barcelona the entire match save for a couple of half chances on the counter. but celtic also weathered the storm thanks to some outstanding defending against a side which had won nine straight league matches to get back into the spanish title picture. nineteen-year-old goal keeper david marshall, deputising for douglas who had been sent off in the first leg, had a long string of fine saves, and probably single-handedly did the most to deny barcelona an aggregate equaliser.

as roma 2-1 villareal. exciting match. roma came out with a stronger side for the second leg after going down 2-0 to the spanish side which qualified through the intertoto cup. (this is the hurdle fulham fell at the year they also qualified through intertoto. and that was the year in which junichi inamoto produced a hat trick to win them a uefa cup place. but this is off the topic.) two goals from emerson and francesco totti put roma back in it but sonny anderson popped up just after the hour mark with a volley to put his side through.

i had a strange dream involving a girl i met at some party a long time ago. wonder what happened to her. for some reason, we were playing dodgeball (i think because i saw it on the news last night as some new fitness craze) and picking teams. except, we were all dressed up for some reason. like some weird blind date gone wrong. she wasn’t that cute. i suppose this is what happens when, even though you go to bed early, you still sleep until 1.

i joined reuse again. let’s see if i can get a new printer.

i was almost ready to leave right after posting this, but then i realised i had to feed all the animals. how am i ever going to have kids? i’m going to forget to feed them. i guess they cry and scream or something, though. (luckily, i haven’t been delinquent in feeding pets in years. i blame wind for the demise of my last pet.)

update. i did change all the water, then i actually didn’t feed them. so i came back at 10 or so to do so. not too late. but i’m going to neglect my kids stupidly, i think. crap.

vienna teng’s new album, warm strangers, is a bit more produced, at times lacking a bit of the raw energy in her first album waking hour, but her songwriting and voice have definitely become more ambitious. that certainly shows in the tracks “mission street” and “harbor”. not a bad thirteen dollars.
