it’s easy to be not bad but hard to be good.

here’s to being good.

i feel so busy today. even though i really wasn’t that busy. i think it’s because of the mess in my room, actually. luckily, i’m slowly eating my way through. (i have a lot of unopened, leftover food.)

never expect favors. don’t be afraid to ask for them, but don’t expect them.

yeah hong kong 1-3 malaysia in world cup 2006 qualifying. hahaha. i remember when they had a friendly agains real madrid. after one match they top the group on goal difference! hahaha. they are drawn with china (!), kuwait, and malaysia. just think if they qualified ahead of china.

i want to purchase the hong kong replica kit. only hkd 120, which is pretty good, about usd 15. and i’m sure the hong kong fa needs the money . . .

new york experience 2004

i should probably write about our new york experience at some point.

so here are some interesting short musings.

we were crossing the street near olive garden in times square. and right there was a horse-drawn carriage. (how romantic–it was valentine’s day.) so the horse proceeded to urinate on the street, right by the crosswalk. this was gross enough, but then the light turned green for the traffic, and the cars drove over it and splashed it everywhere, in little streaks through the crosswalk. we tiptoed our way across. then we went to starbucks.

i didn’t take any good pictures, though.

dinner was at a cajun resturant on the corner of eighth avenue and i think sixteenth street. there was a live jazz band, and lots of couples. this cute asian girl sat down at a table near us, and we noticed that there was a giant tag sticking out from her back, only partially obscured by her hair. clearly this girl was going to return the nice blouse she was wearing after that meal. there was also this really old couple near the front. we couldn’t tell if they were enjoying the music or falling asleep.

on the way home on the lirr, we failed to change trains and got stuck at rockville center. wasted forty-five dollars as a result, and got to watch drunk people urinate. we were so happy when the train that we thought was going to take us back in the right direction came, but it just whizzed by.

the guy at the taxi place was huge. i wonder if there is a rule in hockey that bars you from having a goaltender so large that there is no phyiscal way to score. that is, he is bigger than the goal, and blocks the entire area. this would be like a six-foot tall really fat guy.

it started to snow on the way home as the sun rose. it was beautiful. unfortunately, i was really tired. another hour and we would have been dead probably.
